First I would like to start by highlighting some of our Instructors acheivements this past season.

This year we started a tradition of awarding our instructors for their personal achievements. #1 Most Worked Hours was awarded a FREE Surfboard!

Next Highlight is our Military kids Surf Camp!

This year we had not one but two Military Kids Surf Days because they loved it so very much. I mean who doesn’t love to surf!?

This surf day is very special to us. We are lucky to host such a special event that is designed to show support and gratitude to the kiddos who are affected by living in a Military/National Guard family. As many of you may know these kiddos are required to pack up and move on a whim if their parent(s) are stationed elsewhere. This can be so challenging for these kids and families and what better way to show thanks than with a day full of fun in the ocean catching waves! Huge shoutout to the Child and Youth Program of the Florida National Guards for supporting these kiddos and choosing our camp to give back!

Next up our Micro Groms Camp

This summer our Micro Groms attendance grew EXPONENTIALLY! In fact, our attendance tripled for 2024.

Our mentality of having less kids per week but more weeks throughout the summer has proven to be very beneficial for our Micro Grom students. This camp has a 1 to 1 ratio of campers to instructors, so each kiddo has their very own instructor for the entire camp! We watched as countless little rippers caught their first ever waves and built their ocean strength and confidence, what a special process!

Cornhole Tournaments

Yep that’s right, the next highlight is our Cornhole Tournaments!! We decided 2 years ago that we were going to give our Full Day kiddos a little extra activity for attending full day. So now on the last day of camp each week we host a Cornhole Tournament for our Full Day students. They pick their team name and they play a series of games to win camp goodies from the surf shop! This has been a little change that has had a BIG impact on our students. Many of them look forward to this cornhole tournament and have their partners and team names picked out by the second day of camp!

PS. We also do corn hole tournaments any day the surf is HUGE and is UNSAFE for all of our kiddos to go out. We will allow 10 kids in the water at a time and switch back and forth. So the kiddos who are on the beach are partaking in the tournament, art, or music and the others are surfing or swimming with extra super vision!

Thanks to these companies our goodie bags are FULL of exciting things. Raw Elements, arguably our biggest supporter, donates thousands of dollars worth of reef safe mineral based sunscreen for all of the kiddos to take home each week! This also grants us the platform to educate the kids on how toxic some sunscreens are for our skin and ecosystem.

FREE SCOOP CARDS from Mayday Ice cream is also a HUGE hit at our camp. Mayday ice cream donates 450 free scoops of ice cream to WSMS CAMP so every kiddo who attends can go after camp for a free scoop, how AMAZING is that?
